Addressing a query in the "Raees ge Javaab" series, a platform facilitating direct public interaction with the President on various issues, Dr. Muizzu emphasized the government's commitment to safeguarding the rights of the citizens and ensuring that they are not deprived of any entitlements.
The specific question raised by Fathimath Adam pertained to allegations surrounding the allocation of flats to a list associated with First Lady , Saajida Mohamed. Fathimath Adam urged the President to address the concerns circulating among the public and provide clarity on the matter, although she does not believe these allegations.
In response, President Dr. Muizzu affirmed that the government is dedicated to maintaining fairness in all its actions and processes. He asserted that no external influence would be allowed to interfere with the equitable distribution of resources. Dismissing the rumors surrounding the flat list as false, the President attributed them to individuals attempting to create turmoil. The president assured the public that their rights would be earnestly upheld, and he highlighted the ongoing efforts to ensure just practices.
Following the release of the list containing 4,000 flat recipients, numerous complaints were lodged with the Housing Ministry and the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). Subsequently, the ACC temporarily suspended the handover of the flats in response to the complaints. However, it is important to note that this suspension order has since been rescinded.
