President aims to expedite projects in Dhiyamigili

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has met with Dhiyamigili Island Council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) in Thaa Atoll.

During a meeting with the Island Council and WDC of Dhiyamigili, Thaa Atoll, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu actively participated in discussions aimed at understanding the island's needs and challenges.

Council members brought attention to key concerns, including the necessity of establishing a causeway between Madifushi and Dhiyamigili, connecting Medhafushi to Dhiyamigili, constructing roads, and integrating Mathidhoo under the jurisdiction of Dhiyamigili. They emphasized the importance of setting up a Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) post on the island and extending the health center. Furthermore, they highlighted the need for an ATM service on the island. The council also raised issues related to stalled projects and the limited space in the council office.

Meanwhile, the WDC expressed their budgetary constraints and other challenges to the President during the meeting.

President Muizzu assured that he would collaborate with relevant government institutions to address the identified needs of the residents. He pledged to expedite projects that could be initiated promptly, such as the construction of island roads.

This visit to Dhiyamigili marks the second destination in the President's three-day tour of selected islands in Thaa Atoll, accompanied by a distinguished high-level government delegation.
