President wishes King Charles III a swift recovery

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has extended a message of support to King Charles III of England, who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer. In a social media post, the President expressed his deep sadness upon learning of the King's health diagnosis and conveyed his sincere wishes for a swift recovery.

"I am deeply saddened to hear the news of the recent health diagnosis of King Charles III. I am confident that His Majesty will tackle this diagnosis with tenacity and resolve. The people of the Maldives join me to wish His Majesty a swift return to vibrant health," President Muizzu posted on X.

Buckingham Palace announced on February 5 that King Charles III had been diagnosed with cancer detected during hospitalisation for prostate treatment. Consequently, some of the King's official responsibilities have been temporarily postponed. The royal palace indicated that King Charles III is focused on undergoing cancer treatment and aims to resume his official duties at the earliest opportunity.

King Charles III, aged 75, ascended to the British throne in September 2022 following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
