Saudi Fund assures assistance for Maldives' fisheries industry

The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) has affirmed its commitment to supporting the fisheries industry in the Maldives.

During a meeting in Saudi Arabia, Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, Ahmed Shiyam, engaged with Faisal AlKahtani, Deputy CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development, to discuss ongoing and future SFD projects in the Maldives.

Faisal Al Kahtani pledged to continue supporting the Maldives' fishing industry, emphasizing the shared goals and aspirations. The commitment underscores the collaborative efforts between the two nations to bolster the growth and sustainability of the fisheries sector in the Maldives.

Minister Ahmed Shiyam is currently in Saudi Arabia to attend the opening ceremony of the Saudi International Marine Exhibition in Riyadh, upon the invitation extended by Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen.
