First Lady highlights significance of China-Maldives relations

First Lady Sajida Mohamed has emphasised the robust ties between Maldives and China since President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu took office, speaking at a ceremony in Maafushi, Kaafu Atoll. The event was held to donate essential items to the school by the Chinese government.

Expressing gratitude for China's enduring support, the First Lady highlighted the recent visits of top government officials to China as a testament to the enduring bond between the two nations. First Lady noted the positive impact of the donated equipment on students' academic experiences and the well-being of teachers. She stressed the pivotal role of education in societal development, stating that investing in Maafushi School's infrastructure lays the foundation for long-term prosperity.

In conclusion, the First Lady extended heartfelt gratitude to the People's Republic of China, Governor of Yunnan Province Wang Yubo, and Ambassador Wang Lixin for their unwavering support and invaluable assistance in facilitating this generous donation, emphasizing its far-reaching benefits for the entire island community.

China donated items valued at MVR625,000, including computers, laptops, projectors, printers, furniture, sports equipment, and outdoor fitness gear. First Lady Sajida Mohamed, present at the ceremony, conveyed appreciation for China's assistance to Maafushi, underscoring the diverse benefits the donation will bring to the island.
