Thaa Atoll Council commends President's proactive approach

Thaa Atoll Council has extended its gratitude to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu for his responsiveness to the concerns expressed by the residents of Thaa Atoll. A the meeting held at the Thaa Atoll Council Secretariat commended him for his promising and reassuring responses to the concerns raised by the people.

The meeting focused on the developmental needs of the atoll, with council members outlining specific requirements such as the redevelopment of the Atoll Hospital to modern standards and the introduction of tourism on four islands.

Additionally, the council members shared their vision for an international airport with an economic zone within the atoll, proposed the establishment of a fish factory, and discussed the challenges of intra-atoll travel in Thaa. In response to these concerns, President Dr. Muizzu announced his decision to redevelop the Atoll Hospital and presented the administration's comprehensive development vision for Thaa Atoll.

President Dr. Muizzu encouraged council members to collaborate on a plan for the utilisation of uninhabited islands within their jurisdiction, aiming to benefit all island councils under their purview. Furthermore, he assured full government support for individual councils in attracting investors aligned with the government's core policies, noting a commitment to facilitating meaningful developmental progress in Thaa Atoll.
