Kinbidhoo-Veymandoo causeway to alleviate higher education challenges

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has emphasised the significance of connecting Kinbidhoo and Veymandoo, stating that it would substantially enhance access to higher education for Kinbidhoo's students. He made the statement during the "Raees ge Javaab" series, a platform facilitating direct engagement between the President and the public on various issues.

Addressing an inquiry about the President's policies regarding higher education opportunities for students completing grade 10 in Kinbidhoo, he underscored the importance of extending education up to grade 12 within the island itself. President Muizzu acknowledged the current limitations in facilities and opportunities on Kinbidhoo but expressed optimism that ongoing development projects would bring about significant advantages for both Kinbidhoo and Veymandoo.

President Muizzu highlighted that the proposed causeway between Kinbidhoo and Veymandoo would contribute to a population increase and open up opportunities for university education for students from various islands.

The desire for this connection resonates strongly with the people of Kinbidhoo, who have long aspired for this development. While acknowledging the previous government's promise to establish this connection, the residents acknowledged that it has yet to materialize, expressing concerns of the delay.

During his recent visit to several islands in Thaa Atoll, including Kinbidhoo, President Muizzu reassured the community that efforts would be undertaken to connect Kinbidhoo to Veymandoo. He affirmed the government's commitment to fostering economic development in the merged islands once the connection is established.
