Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed has announced plans for a special event in Malaysia this year to showcase the craftsmanship of Maldivian artisans. He made the announcement during the last session of the Creator's Confluence, jointly organised by the Business Centre Corporation (BCC) and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.

Speaking at the confluence, Minister Saeed emphasised that the initiative is a crucial part of the government's strategy to elevate Maldivian products on the global stage. He disclosed plans for an upcoming creators' expo, slated for later this year, where the talent and dedication of artisans will be spotlighted in a competitive setting.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has underscored the importance of nurturing a skilled economy, providing skilled workers with international opportunities. The initiative includes facilitating currency transactions on various international platforms and fostering an enabling environment for professionals.

The Creator's Confluence, spearheaded by the BCC, serves as a platform for artists to contribute their insights towards building a creative economy in the Maldives. The BCC also expressed its commitment to organising more such gatherings in the future, aiming to harness the expertise and feedback from diverse sectors for substantial progress in the industry.
