President Dr. Muizzu urges swift judicial justice for Former President Yameen

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Qayyoom must be granted justice expeditiously through the judicial system. He made the statement during a gathering in Feydhoo, Addu City.

The President reiterated a crucial commitment made during his presidential campaign, affirming that his administration does not interfere with the independence of the judiciary. Emphasising the government's hands-off approach, he reassured that there has been no influence on the judicial courts or the overall judicial system.

Highlighting the importance of discontinuing political arrests, the president stressed the significance of ensuring justice for former President Yameen. The expressed hope is that President Yameen will swiftly receive justice through the established judicial processes.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the prolonged delay in securing justice for President Yameen, the President stated the delay in getting justice for President Yameen for so long is unacceptable.

Furthermore, the President outlined the government's commitment to putting an end to political imprisonment and punishment. He firmly stated his resolve not to be a leader who engages in politically motivated punishments.
