Fuvahmulah City Council will give full support to gov't: Mayor Rafeeq

Mayor of Fuvahmulah City Ismail Rafeeq has expressed the council's commitment to collaborate fully with the government for the advancement and prosperity of Fuvahmulah City.

Speaking at a meeting with residents during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's visit to the southern atolls, Mayor Rafeeq emphasised the importance of continuous progress without interruption due to political conflicts. He also reassured residents that the Fuvahmulah City Council stands ready to cooperate entirely with the government's development initiatives for the benefit of its people.

Additionally, Mayor Rafeeq highlighted key issues discussed during the meeting with President Dr. Muizzu, particularly the government's pledge to upgrade all roads in Fuvahmulah to modern standards. He also extended gratitude to the President for inaugurating the second phase of the Fuvahmulah City Road Development Project during the visit.

Furthermore, Mayor Rafeeq acknowledged the launch of housing projects and the construction of a new harbor in Fuvahmulah. He said that plans are underway to enhance the city's airport infrastructure to accommodate larger aircraft, thereby bolstering the local economy. He underscored the significance of President Dr. Muizzu's early visit to Fuvahmulah City as a testament to the priority the President places on the city's development.
