Faresmaathoda residents ready to move forward with President: Imthiyaz

President of the Faremaathoda Island Council Ahmed Imthiyaz has expressed the residents' eagerness to move forward with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu for the development of Faremaathoda. He made the statement during a meeting with the President and the residential community of Faresmaathodaa, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll.

During the meeting, Imthiyaz outlined to President Dr. Muizzu the necessary development projects for Faresmaathoda. He highlighted the government's plans to expand the harbour and reclaim land on the island, highlighting its pivotal role in the fishing sector. He also emphasised the need for maintenance and dockyard services, proposing the construction of a slipway to facilitate the services within the harbour.

Additionally, Imthiyaz urged for the completion of the football pitch and sports association facilities, which had been initiated but halted. He also addressed the space constraints faced by the island school, recalling pledges made by the previous government to construct additional classrooms to alleviate the issue. He appealed to President Dr. Muizzu to fulfill the commitment under his leadership.

Furthermore, Imthiyaz called for the resumption of the stalled construction of the power plant by Fenaka Corporation Limited, prompt repairs to the airport, and the initiation of a sea ambulance service. He reassured President Dr. Muizzu of the residents' unwavering support for the island's development endeavors.
