Thinadhoo City Council underscores important measures for economic development

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has met with members of the Thinadhoo City Council and the Women's Development Committee (WDC) at the Thinadhoo City Council Secretariat.

During the meeting, Council members emphasised the need to accelerate development projects, particularly upgrading the Thinadhoo Regional Hospital to tertiary standards and constructing 200 housing units on the island. The Council also expressed the urgency for the commencement of the airport and bridge development projects, highlighting the necessity to create housing and foster economic and social development opportunities.

Addressing the meeting, President Dr. Muizzu assured that the Administration would address the concerns raised by the Council, emphasizing the priority given to regional development. He further outlined the development plans for the southern development zone, with Thinadhoo City as a central urban center, encompassing the southernmost three atolls combined.
