President vows no political arrests

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has emphasised that the government will not resort to arresting politicians for political gains, affirming a commitment to upholding the rule of law. He made the remarks while speaking at a meeting with the residents of Thinadhoo City.

Speaking at the meeting, President Dr. Muizzu stressed his focus on meeting the needs of the citizens regardless of their political affiliations. He also pledged equality for all citizens, promising to consider each individual's concerns equally.

Additionally, President Dr. Muizzu advocated for eliminating vengeful attitudes and ending unjust political biases in the Maldives. He also said that any instances of corruption, theft, or illegal activities would be addressed by relevant authorities, emphasising his mandate to foster peace in the nation.

Furthermore, President Dr. Muizzu highlighted the power of Maldivian citizens to influence parliamentary proceedings. He encouraged a national mindset among voters in the upcoming parliamentary election in March, expressing confidence that collective action would propel the nation forward at a fast pace.
