The Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (MIFCO) has initiated the process of compensating fishermen in accordance with the agreed terms. Following discussions at the Kooddoo Fisheries Complex between the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and management team of MIFCO and the fishermen, steps have been taken to address their grievances.
In a statement, MIFCO expressed its commitment to alleviating the challenges faced by fishermen and commended their constructive engagement during the discussions. The management affirmed its dedication to collaborating with relevant ministries and the fishing community to resolve issues related to payment distribution to fishing vessels, as outlined in the discussions at Kooddoo.
Additionally, MIFCO reiterated its pledge to enhance service quality, ensure prompt delivery, and accommodate fishermen's concerns to streamline the company's services for their convenience. MIFCO stated that it is grateful for the fishermen's patience and collaboration and looks forward to continued cooperation in fostering a mutually beneficial relationship.
