Legal work underway to provide allowance to retirees: President

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has confirmed that efforts are underway for the implementation of an allowance for civil servants retiring at the age of 65.

The clarification came in response to a query from Mohamed Nafiz, a school teacher in Gemanafushi, Gaafu Alifu Atoll, regarding the continuity of allowances for those retiring at 55.

In addressing the concern, President Dr. Muizzu assured that a provision for an allowance for individuals retiring between the ages of 55 and 65 is in progress. The president added, President's legal team, in collaboration with the Attorney General's Office, has initiated administrative work to fulfill this commitment.
