President to implement eco-tourism initiative in Baarah

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced plans for a significant eco-tourism initiative in Baarah, Haa Alifu Atoll. He made the remarks while speaking at a gathering with the residents of Baarah during his visit to Haa Alifu Atoll.

Speaking at the gathering, President Dr. Muizzu outlined the government's strategy for the development of Baarah. He also emphasised the utilisation of the island's natural environment.

Additionally, President Dr. Muizzu disclosed that the government intends to implement a large-scale eco-tourism project on the island, aimed at fostering sustainability and attracting international interest through a competitive bidding process. He highlighted the potential benefits, including job creation, revenue generation, and overall enhancement of the island's infrastructure.

Furthermore, President Dr. Muizzu outlined specific infrastructure improvements, including the modernisation of the ring road of Baarah, refurbishment of the jetty for easier access, and construction of a new mosque. He also assured residents that all development efforts would align with the priorities set forth in local council meetings.
