FDC to install elevators in Hulhumale' flats

The Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has initiated the installation of elevators in the flats under construction in Hulhumale' Phase II. As such, four towers are currently undergoing elevator installation.

Speaking to PSM News, Managing Director of FDC Hamdhan Shakeel said that the structural work for 11 flats has been completed, with 65% of the structural work for the other towers also finished. He further said that the finishing touches are in progress for the four towers, including elevator installation, with plans for three elevators per flat.

Additionally, Hamdhan said that a total of 32 towers are being developed in Hulhumale', with 26 expected to be completed this year. He also said that the remaining six towers are scheduled for completion within the first three months of the following year, although efforts are being made to finish them within the current year.

FDC has entered loan agreements with two Indian companies for the construction of 4,000 new housing units. NBCC India Limited is responsible for 2,000 social housing units, while JMC Projects (India) Limited is handling another 2,000. The loans amount to USD116 million and USD 110 million, respectively. The project comprises a total of 32 towers, each ranging from 17 to 18 storeys high.
