President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has held a meeting with the members of the Island Council of Hanimaadhoo, Haa Dhaalu Atoll and the Women's Development Committee (WDC) at the Secretariat of the Hanimaadhoo Council.
During the meeting, the Council emphasised various developmental needs for Hanimaadhoo, including the establishment of a hospital, implementation of a housing project, development of an indoor sports complex, provision of blood bank services, and accessibility improvement for the Maldives Immigration Service on the island. Additionally, the Council noted the need for implementing the second phase of modern road construction, providing banking services, improving the tourism sector, upgrading school facilities, and enhancing police and airport services in Hanimaadhoo.
The WDC urged the Government to establish a proper system to weigh fish on the island. Members also expressed the need to develop the sports sector and raised concerns about the availability of medicines on the island.
In response, President Dr. Muizzu affirmed his commitment to resolving the issues addressed by the Council. The attending Ministers provided updates on the Government's initiatives regarding the Council's concerns, reflecting a collaborative effort to address the developmental needs and challenges faced by Hanimaadhoo.
