President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has held a meeting with the Sh. Goidhoo Island Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) members at the Secretariat of the Kan'ditheemu Island Council.
During the meeting, Council members shared their development needs with the President. These included the urgent need to accelerate the water and sewerage network project, construct a mosque, upgrade the health centre, and initiate the projects allocated in this year's budget for the island. The members specifically requested the construction of roads in alignment with the President's commitment.
Additionally, the Council members advocated for the establishment of a robust waste management system and emphasized the importance of developing the sports sector, particularly for the youth. Furthermore, the Council sought support for advancing agriculture, tourism, and fisheries in Goidhoo.
At the meeting, the WDC members also highlighted their challenges due to budgetary constraints.
In response, the President assured that the Administration would work towards addressing the points raised by the Council. The Ministers in attendance provided the latest updates on the Government's efforts to address the issues raised by the Council, demonstrating a collaborative approach to promote the comprehensive development of Goidhoo.
