President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has met with the members of the Maaungoodhoo Island Council and the Women's Development Committee (WDC).
During the meeting, the Council addressed the President regarding the island's crucial development needs. The members expressed concerns regarding sanitation and sewerage management, the improvement of major roads' quality, the protection of eroding areas, and harbour expansion. Additionally, they highlighted the necessity for a new modern mosque and the need for additional space in the school and requested the establishment of a multipurpose hall.
In response, the President stated that the Administration would assess the harbour upgrade project proposed by the Council and that the Administration is committed to addressing the issues highlighted. Ministers in attendance provided updates on the Government's initiatives to address the Council's concerns.
