Deputy Managing Director of Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL) Ali Saleem has underscored the necessity of citizen-government collaboration to foster development in the Maldives. He made the remarks while speaking at a gathering with the residents of Funadhoo, during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's ongoing trip to Shaviyani Atoll.
Speaking at the gathering, Saleem highlighted President Dr. Muizzu's reliance on citizen support to realise development initiatives. He commended Funadhoo for its history of collaboration with previous administrations while acknowledging economic challenges faced by residents in recent years. He expressed optimism for a new era of development on the island, urging mutual cooperation between the government and the populace.
Additionally, Saleem stressed the potential for further development in Funadhoo through joint efforts between the government and its citizens. He identified key areas such as airport expansion, hospital construction, and road infrastructure as potential projects that could be initiated through collaborative efforts.
Furthermore, Saleem pledged unwavering support of IASL and cooperation towards developmental endeavors. He echoed President Dr. Muizzu's commitment to prioritising the welfare of the citizens and emphasised the community's readiness to fully engage in the government's development agenda. He reiterated the indispensability of government cooperation for meaningful progress on the island.
