President assures no state expenditure on his stay in Dhimyaath

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has refuted allegations regarding state expenditure on his stay at Dhimyaath, his personal residence. The President addressed these claims during the "Raeesge Javaabu" series, a daily platform for responding to public inquiries.

Responding to a question by Aminath Najma from Funadhoo, Shaviyani Atoll, President Muizzu clarified that although the state was responsible for covering his stay expenses, he personally opted to bear the entire cost during his residence in his own home. Contrary to reports suggesting a state expenditure of USD 1,623,650, the President contested the accuracy of such figures.

Additionally, the President dismissed allegations of a USD 1,948,380 expenditure on his and the First Lady's dinner over 100 days, deeming it unreasonable. He highlighted the annual meal expenses at Muliaage amounting to USD 45,462, emphasizing the spread of untrue news due to a lack of substantive criticisms against the government.

President Muizzu expressed concern over the rising dissemination of false information and urged the public to exercise vigilance. He called upon authorities to provide accurate clarification on such reports, underlining the need for transparency and truthfulness in public discourse.
