President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has met with the members of the Maafaru Island Council to discuss the island's developmental needs and the challenges faced by its residents.
Emphasising the urgent necessity for housing provision, the Council members also underscored the importance of land reclamation and hospital projects. They highlighted the need for a larger Waste Management Centre and a slipway.
Further, Council members relayed concerns from other institutions, emphasizing issues related to the school's expansion project and the delivery of airport services.
Additionally, the Women's Development Committee (WDC) underscored their challenges due to an unsuitable work environment.
The President assured the members that the Administration would thoroughly examine the concerns raised by the Council. Ministers present at the meeting provided updates on the Government's ongoing initiatives to address the issues brought to the forefront by the Council.
