President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has met with the Maakurathu Island Council members and delved into pivotal development projects for the island. The meeting was held at the Secretariat of the Dhuvaafaru Council.
The Maakurathu Council underscored the imperative need for an office complex, a multipurpose hall for the school, the expedited completion of the harbour project, shore protection measures, and the establishment of police services on the island. The Council also highlighted staffing shortages at the health centre and emphasised the island's socio-economic development needs.
President Dr. Muizzu along with the Cabinet Ministers present at the meeting, provided updates on the Government's ongoing initiatives to address the issues brought to the forefront by the Council.
