The Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation (HDC) Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed, has stated that around 50 lands were unfairly issued by the previous government.
Speaking at an event organised by the Progressive Congress Coalition, Fazul Rasheed, the Managing Director of HDC highlighted his focus on improving healthcare accessibility for Hulhumale' residents. He also addressed the issue of unreclaimed lands in Hulhumale's phases one and two, stating that these lands were allocated on a commercial basis.
Fazul Rasheed mentioned that some lands in Hulhumale's phase two, allocated under the 'Binveriyaa Housing Scheme,' have sand hills and construction materials from workers. As a result, he emphasised that these lands would only be assigned after being relocated.
During the event, Fazul Rasheed responded to criticism and speculation about the alleged halt in land reclamation. He clarified that the work is indeed progressing rapidly, despite opposition claims that the budget was not approved to prevent the reclamation of Rasmale.
Fazul Rasheed concluded by stating that the land reclamation process is ongoing, including Giraavarufalhu and Hulhumale' Phase 3.
