Defending the nation's defense is a fundamental duty and an honor

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has affirmed the fundamental right and honour of defending the Maldives' independence. He made the remarks at the inauguration of the MNDF Air Corps and the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV).

Highlighting the Maldives' capacity to defend itself and asserting its identity, Dr. Muizzu urged a shift in perception, urging the nation to see itself not as small but as significant. He declared an end to concerns regarding self-power in vast areas of the country, emphasizing the newfound ability to manage these territories independently.

Underscoring this vast region presents a tremendous opportunity to secure a prosperous future for our descendants, President said there is immense potential to expand the economy of this region.

Further, Dr. Muizzu reiterated the Maldives' determination to safeguard its territory independently, asserting it as a rightful duty. He lauded the commencement of significant work by the Maldives Army, empowered by its newfound capabilities.

Expressing gratitude to the Turkish President for the generous gift of three drones, Dr. Muizzu underscored the significance of close relations with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. While currently utilising three drones for sea patrols, the President anticipated bolstering the country's military prowess through continued collaboration with Turkey.
