Fenaka Corporation Limited has pledged to deliver generators to the most electricity-vulnerable islands in the Maldives within the next five days.
On a social media post, Managing Director of Fenaka Muaz Mohamed Rasheed said that generators are being procured for six islands facing the most critical situations. He assured that these generators will be delivered and installed across all islands within the next four to five days.
Highlighting specific efforts, Muaz mentioned that a 250 kW generator has been dispatched to the worst affected island, Vaikaradhoo, Haa Dhaalu Atoll. Additionally, a 400 kW generator is being procured and installed in Hoandeddhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll. The company is also actively working on procuring generators for four more islands and clearing them from Customs.
While Ramadan is a month that typically sees increased electricity consumption, Fenaka has acknowledged recent power outages in some islands, attributing them to long-standing engine repair issues. The company is prioritising efforts to address these issues and enhance the electricity capacity of the islands, ensuring reliable power supply for residents.
