China hands over 10 pickups to Maldives for municipal work

Shangdong Province in China has handed over 10 pickup trucks to the Maldives.

The Minister of Cities, Local Government, and Public Works, Adam Shareef Umar, received the pickups, with the letter of exchange signed by Ambassador Wang Lixin representing China. The ministry confirmed that the pickups will serve public and civil work units across seven regions of the Maldives. The distribution to the units is scheduled for the upcoming days.

The assistance was secured during discussions held during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's inaugural visit to China. The visit resulted in several agreements between the two nations, covering areas such as free grants and cooperation. Among the agreements are provisions for laboratory facilities on 17 islands and 1,500 tonnes of drinking water.
