President assures the strong alliance of PPM and PNC

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has affirmed the unified nature of the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and the People's National Congress (PNC), highlighting their collaborative efforts within the ruling coalition.

In an exclusive interview with PSM News, President Muizzu strongly emphasized that the present administration represents a coalition between PPM and PNC. He further highlighted the proactive involvement of the Maldives National Party (MNP) and the Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) within the ruling coalition, stating that there is no discord among the four parties.

Former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, however, asserted that President Muizzu has no intention of revitalising both PPM and PNC. This assertion was contradicted by the leadership of the PPM-PNC coalition following objections from general party members.

Members of the PPM-PNC coalition reiterated President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's proactive approach toward achieving substantial progress. They underscored that genuine supporters of PPM would refrain from engaging in any activity that may potentially foster animosity towards the present government.
