Thalhath Hassan assumes role of Sergeant-at-Arms of Parliament

Major (Retired) Thalhath Hassan Fulhu has officially assumed the role of Sergeant-at-Arms of Parliament following approval from the parliament.

In a formal ceremony held at the parliament office, Thalhath signed the resolution and took his oath of office in the presence of the President, Vice President, and other senior officials of the parliamentary body.

Thalhath's appointment as the new Sergeant-at-Arms was confirmed during a parliamentary session .With over 21 years of experience in the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) and having retired at the rank of Major General, Thalhath brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. Additionally, he has served as a board member at the State Electric Company Limited (STELCO).

Previously, Mohamed Haleem held the position of Sergeant-at-Arms at Parliament. However, he was relieved of his duties in August 2022 due to an ongoing investigation against him by Parliament. The role has remained vacant until Thalhath's appointment.
