Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has announced the opportunity to apply for parking slots in Hulhumale's inaugural smart parking zone.
Residents in Hulhumale' are now able to rent a slot in the smart parking zone, with the bid submission deadline set for May 24. Situated in Fithuroanu Magu, Hulhumale', the smart parking facility is available for lease for an extended period of 3 years, with HDC allocating 41 slots as part of the facilitation.
HDC has emphasised that the bidding process will commence at a base value of USD 97.10. Parking slots will be assigned based on the highest points, according to the allocation rules. Only locals with vehicles registered in the bidder's name will be eligible, and vehicles must comply with regulations set forth by the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation.
Additionally, the smart parking zone will utilize artificial intelligence and machine learning cameras to automatically detect vehicles and open the parking gate upon scanning their license plates. This technology will enable drivers to navigate through the zone effortlessly.
Moreover, the zone will feature special parking slots for short-term and long-term parking, as well as designated slots for people with disabilities.
Fithuroanu parking zone marks the first of its kind, with plans for more parking zones to be introduced across different areas of Hulhumale', promising to revolutionise the parking experience in the Maldives.
