DASA announces set up of an aviation safety system in Maldives

The Directorate of Aviation Security Administration (DASA), operating under the Ministry of Defense, has introduced a dedicated reporting system to bolster civil aviation safety in the Maldives.

In a recent circular, DASA highlighted its ongoing efforts to elevate civil aviation safety standards across the nation. The circular urges individuals working within airports, airlines, or any related air travel settings, as well as passengers and the general public utilizing air transportation, to promptly report any activities that may pose potential threats to air traffic safety or violate established regulations.

Additionally, DASA announced the deployment of a confidential reporting mechanism designed to facilitate the disclosure of such concerns to the authorities. The system ensures anonymity for reporters if desired, fostering an environment of trust and transparency. DASA emphasised the indispensable role of all air users in collaborating with their initiatives to fortify the safety protocols governing domestic civil aviation.
