Fenaka Corporation Limited has commenced the installation of an 800kW generator aiming to improve and stabilise the provision of electricity services in Kulhudhuffushi City, Haa Dhaalu Atoll.
Fenaka disclosed that the provision of electricity has always been a huge issue, as the consumption of current is greater than that generated. Due to this, regular power outages for an hour between 1200hrs to 1900hrs have been observed, while posing challenges and difficulties to the residents of the city.
Highlighting that the installing capacity of Kulhudhuffushi City is seven megawatts, Fenaka stated that the amount will be increased to 7.8MW following the installation of the new generator. It additionally proclaimed that the installation of the 800kW generator will be a sustainable solution for the issue.
Furthermore, the corporation has been conducting research to determine and identify islands or cities with poor electricity services and to provide them the necessary generators. Fenaka noted that most of the power outages were due to the lack of proper engine maintenance.
