Maldives sees positive changes under President’s 4-month tenure: Minister

Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed has reiterated the government’s proactive efforts in identifying and resolving challenges faced by local businesses, underscoring its stance in facilitating overall development.

Speaking at a political event hosted by the ruling party, People’s National Congress (PNC), Minister Saeed proclaimed that there have been substantial progressions following President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s tenure within the past 4 months.

Moreover, Minister Saeed conveyed that since President Muizzu assumed office, bunkering services have been introduced in Maldives. He further highlighted Hoarafushi's inclusion in the bunkering chart, signifying expanded services. These remarks were made in light of Vitol Bunkers recognising Maldives as a significant global destination for bunkering services, showcasing the country on its prominent worldwide bunkers map. He emphasised that this event marks a historic first for the Maldives.

Additionally, Minister Mohamed Saeed asserted that President Muizzu has succeeded in initiating bunkering services, despite the failures of previous administrations to do so.

Furthermore, the Minister proclaimed that President Muizzu is dedicated to protecting the freedom and sovereignty of the Maldives, ensuring unwavering commitment to achieving significant sustainable development across the nation.
