President commits to ensure inclusive participation in Addu City affairs

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stressed the importance of preventing specific parliamentarians from influencing Addu City affairs, highlighting the forthcoming revolutionary changes.

Addressing a political event hosted by the ruling party, People's National Congress (PNC), President Muizzu underscored Addu City's pivotal role in the government's national development plan. He emphasised the need for public cooperation in achieving substantial progress in Addu's development.

President Muizzu pointed out that certain individuals have long exerted control over Addu City's constituencies, hampering its overall development. Despite various initiated projects, he lamented the failure to realize the collective vision for the city. However, he expressed confidence in achieving significant progress if provided with the opportunity.

Furthermore, President Muizzu reiterated his intention to introduce a legally protected developmental plan to the parliament and emphasized the importance of securing parliamentary support for this vision. He warned that electing individuals with differing mindsets could potentially hinder the government's developmental efforts.
