Parliamentary cooperation vital for budget approval

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has underscored the crucial importance of parliamentary cooperation to approve the budget for 2025, that would allow several developmental projects to be launched in various parts of the country.

Speaking at a gathering with the residents of Maavah, Laamu Atoll, President Dr. Muizzu revealed aims to deliver tangible results expeditiously, ensuring no delays. Observing that the current parliaments opinions and vies do not align with the administration for the past four months, the president stressed the importance of a collaborative Parliament to achieve the overarching goal. He additionally cautioned against the potential obstacles that could arise if candidates elected are those who are not actively supporting the government's decision and do not have a developmental mindset. This includes constraints in project budgets, allocations and disapproving the amendments proposed by the government to expedite projects and initiatives.

Hence, President Dr. Muizzu highlighted the pivotal role of parliamentary cooperation, emphasising that all individuals are equally important for the president regardless of the party. He further urged residents to prioritize the development and future of the nation over individual interests when casting their votes. He additionally called for the election of candidates who will actively support and cooperate in achieving the commitments outlined in the government's manifesto.
