President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has engaged in discussions with Fonadhoo Island Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) to discuss crucial developments required for the island. The discussion was held in the social centre of Fonadhoo.
During the meeting, the members of the council expressed their concerns regarding the delays in the road development initiative and the challenges faced due to school sessions being conducted separately. They further shed light on the importance of establishing an artificial beach area, while noting issues faced by the current, water and sewage networks. The council discussed potential solutions to the problem along with measures to develop and strengthen the health and tourism sector as well.
Additionally, WDC also raised the obstacles they face due to the lack of funds to conduct various activities and events as planned. They further emphasised the importance of providing pension schemes, maternity leave, Ramadan allowance, loan applications and relevant salaries to the members of the committee.
President Dr. Muizzu and Cabinet Ministers present at the meeting provided the latest updates on the issues raised by the council. The president also affirmed that the concerns of the council will be considered, ensuring that efforts will be made to address the issues.
