The practical initiation of modernising roads in Alifushi has begun following a formal ceremony officiated by the Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works Adam Shareef.
Road Development Corporation (RDC) has been given the contract to build, with it being asked to finish within 540 days.
The project, totalling USD 5.83 million, includes the tarring of roads, establishment of drainage systems, and installation of street lights. Simultaneously, as part of the project, the main roads are to be tarred along with the roads leading to public services offices.
The current administration has announced plans to elevate the infrastructure of roads across all islands in the Maldives, with a focus on modernising all roads in cities and major roads utilised in other islands.
