Election Commission of the Maldives (ECM) has revealed that 113,627 individuals have voted by 1300hrs in the ongoing parliamentary elections.
ECM disclosed that 39.92% of the eligible voters cast votes so far, including 61,651 men and 51,976 women. Therefore, it can be inferred that a total of 171,036 individuals out of 284,663 individuals remain to cast votes.
With the parliamentary election electing candidates competing for the representative position of 93 constituencies, voting hours will continue until 1730hrs.
ECM has urged individuals to cast votes promptly, as the time allocated for voting will not be extended provided any circumstances.
