Abdulla Unais has been appointed as the Secretary General of the Election Commission of the Maldives (ECM). The appointment was followed by the resignation of the former Secretary General Hassan Zakariyya.
With over 19 years of dedicated service to the ECM, Unais has held various positions in the commission since November 15, 2005. The last position he served in the ECM was the role of the Director. Unais has also made a remarkable accomplishment by holding the honours of a degree on Information Technology (IT) and attaining a Master's degree on Business Studies.
In addition to the role of the Secretary General, individuals were also appointed for two other positions as well. As such, Aminath Azifa has been designated the role of the Director of the Planning and Registration Division of the ECM, while Seena Rasheed was appointed as the Deputy Director of the Administration and Support Service Section.
