The Head of Regional Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Kedir Awol Omar has paid a courtesy call on Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef. The meeting was held on May 2 at the President's Office.
During the meeting, the Vice President expressed gratitude for the ICRC's continued assistance and noted the Maldives' long history of cooperation. He further assured the delegation that the Administration would fully cooperate in conducting Red Crescent activities.
The Head of Regional Delegation of the ICRC expressed gratitude to the Government for the continued assistance and support provided to the organisation. He also informed the Vice President of the expertise exchange programme, in which they hoped to include Maldivian authorities, and briefed him on other training opportunities they provided.
At the meeting, the Vice President and the Head of Regional Delegation of the ICRC discussed the importance of further enhancing and sustaining relations between the ICRC and the Maldives.
