Minister Shaheem appointed as the representative at OIC summit

Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has embarked on a journey to Gambia as the special representative of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu for the 15th summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Minister Shaheem is slated to deliver a speech at the OIC Islamic Summit.

Speaking to PSM news prior to his departure, the Minister highlighted the government's proactive initiatives aimed at strengthening relations between Saudi Arabia and the Maldives. He further emphasized that discussions at the summit would address the current situation in Palestine and other Islamic world issues, reaffirming his unwavering commitment to calling out terror directed towards Palestinians.

The 15th OIC Summit, themed "Enhancing Unity and Solidarity through Dialogue for Sustainable Development," is scheduled to take place in Banjul, Gambia, from May 4 to 5, with the participation of 57 senior executives from various countries. This summit underscores the collective efforts towards fostering unity, solidarity, and sustainable development within the Islamic world.
