Minister holds discussion with Qatar to strengthen relations

Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer has met the Prime Minister of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, who also serves as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Zameer expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the unwavering support of Qatar in strengthening the socio-economic ties between the two nations. The minister also commended Qatar's dedicated efforts to establish and maintain peace regarding the case of Palestine. Additionally, the ministers engaged in discussion focusing on collaborative efforts and measures to be implemented, aiming to further bolster ties and jointly work on international issues.

During the official visit, Minister Zameer was accompanied by senior officials of the ministry. As such, the minister was accompanies by Bilateral Secretary Dr. Hala Hameed, Ambassador-at-Large Dr. Fazeel Najeeb. The official visit to Qatar is scheduled from May 11 to 13.

Furthermore, Minister Zameer stated that this year marks the 40th anniversary since the establishment of foreign ties between the Maldives and Qatar.
