Customs seizes 22kg of drugs within two months

Deputy Commissioner of Customs Ibrahim Afaaz has revealed that 22kgs of drugs have been seized from March 1 to May 10. He made these remarks during a press conference led by the Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology.

Deputy Commissioner Afaaz emphasised the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking, stating that 12 individuals have been detained between March and May 10 for smuggling drugs, resulting in the seizure of 22kg of drugs.

Moreover, he further stressed the importance of active collaboration from the public in addressing drug-related issues, urging people to avoid accepting packages from unknown individuals when traveling abroad. Afaaz also advised thorough inspection of packages received from familiar sources and ensuring awareness of their contents.

Given the prevalence of drug smuggling through postal and courier services, Customs authorities urged the public to exercise caution and remain vigilant.
