MPS urges being cautious of unfavourable weather conditions

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has issued a cautionary advisory as the unfavourable weather conditions resulting in the collapse of trees and fences on building situated in Hulhumale'.

In a post shared on social media, MPS urged residents residing in tall buildings to secure household items susceptible to displacement by harsh winds and stressed the necessity of keeping their windows closed. It further advised seafarers, to pay special attention to the weather conditions, highlighting the importance of taking the required precautions.

The Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) anticipates that the nation will experience unfavourable weather conditions until May 23. Heavy rainfall and harsh winds are expected in some regions of the nation.
