Maldivian flag flown at half mast following demise of Iranian president

The Maldivian flag has been flown at half mast following the untimely demise of Iranian President Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi in a tragic helicopter crash.

The President's Office announced that the flag will be flown half mast for three days, in adherence with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's directive, grieving the loss of the Iranian President Raisi. Additionally, the president has conveyed condolences over the death of President Raisi.

In a social media post, President Dr. Muizzu conveyed his deepest sympathies, praying to Almighty Allah to bless the souls of those lost in the incident. The president also expressed his thoughts and prayers to the bereaved families and people of Iran during this time of immense grief.

According to reports citing Iranian authorities, the helicopter carrying President Raisi was returning from a visit to Azerbaijan when it crashed in the Jolfa region of East Azerbaijan.
