Maldives holds forum with Saudi collaboration

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs of the Maldives and the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs have jointly organised an academic forum, which took place from May 20 - 21 at the Islamic Centre.

Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed emphasised that the primary goal of the forum was to provide academic information on Islamic faith and beliefs, underscoring that this forum is part of a series of similar events held across Islamic countries globally.

Moreover, Minister Shaheem highlighted that the two-day forum served as a platform to disseminate comprehensive information on Islamic faith and Tawheed, expressing optimism and appreciation for the positive public response and confirmed that additional forums are planned for the near future.

Additionally, the minister reiterated that both the Maldives and Saudi Arabia's Ministries of Islamic Affairs will continue to collaborate closely, with plans to conduct extensive Islamic research and organise various activities related to Islamic services.

The forum saw participation from Saudi delegates visiting the Maldives. It was open to scholars, Imams, Khatheebs, senior students from Arabiyya School, and students from the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) and Maldives National University (MNU), as well as those proficient in the Arabic language.
