President bringing changes to strengthen Govt: Abdul Raheem

Special Advisor to the President Abdul Raheem Abdullah has stated that the changes made to government positions by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu aims to ensure the smooth and seamless functioning of the administration, with the ultimate objective of achieving the commitments outlined in the manifesto.

Speaking at a programme aired on PSM News, Abdul Raheem revealed that changes are inevitable during the five-year tenure of the administration. He highlighted that such modifications were made during the tenure of previous administrations as well.

Observing that previous governments did not change the appointees regardless of not working up to the desired level, Abdul Raheem stressed that the ruling People's National Congress (PNC) will bring changes if the appointed individuals do not work to meet expectations. He elucidated that the changes brought to some government positions by President Dr. Muizzu aims to ensure the expeditious completion of developmental projects and initiatives launched, while ensuring the smooth running of the Parliament.

Additionally, Abdul Raheem disclosed that the resignations of some Parliamentarians were their own personal affairs, cautioning against criticism if the resignation was due to dissatisfaction. He further affirmed that the modifications brought will not hinder the functioning of the administration.
