PSM secures EURO 2024 broadcasting rights

The Public Service Media (PSM) has successfully secured the broadcasting rights for UEFA EURO 2024. This announcement was made by Managing Director of PSM, Zeena Zahir, during a recent press briefing.

Managing Director Zeena addressed concerns from the public regarding the absence of coverage for the previous UEFA European Football Championship, attributing it to a debt owed to Sony, the regional broadcaster for the tournament. She expressed gratitude to the government for its support in securing the rights this year and announced that a plan to repay the debt has been established, enabling PSM to broadcast the upcoming tournament.

She revealed preparations are underway to ensure comprehensive coverage, with all matches set to be broadcast in HD quality without any additional cost to the audience. PSM is the sole local broadcaster providing this coverage.

The UEFA EURO 2024 will feature 24 European countries competing across 10 cities in Germany, divided into six groups and culminating in a total of 51 matches. The final match is scheduled for July 14 in Berlin.

In addition to the UEFA European Football Championship, PSM is planning to introduce more franchise shows in the near future.
