President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Amor Mottley, and the Government of Barbados for the warm hospitality and excellent arrangements made for him during his stopover in Barbados, following his participation in the Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4).

Upon President Muizzu's arrival at Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA), he was warmly received by the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Parliamentarian C. Sandra V. Husbands, and Chief of Protocol Resa Layne. The President and his delegation were then given a tour of the island's cultural and historical sites.

During his transit, President Muizzu conveyed his gratitude to Prime Minister Mottley over a telephone conversation, as she was out of the country. He expressed his delight at witnessing the beauty of Barbados and left the country with fond memories of the generous hospitality. President Muizzu also praised Prime Minister Mottley's leadership at SIDS4, especially regarding the reform of the international financial architecture.

Additionally, he further emphasised that the Maldivian Government highly prioritizes and looks forward to future cooperation between the two countries, particularly in implementing the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for SIDS.
